Job Description Overview

Our Contract Specialist supports the Vice President of Network Development by developing and managing provider networks and vendor relationships for new and existing sites.



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience:

  • Three to five (3-5) years of Managed Care/Healthcare experience
  • One to three (1-3) years of experience in working with Managed Care contract terms and reimbursement methods
  • Strong skills in MS WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, multi-tasking, problem solving capability, creativity, initiative, teamwork skills, public relations and customer service skills required

  • Responsibilities

    1. Assist in developing/managing relationships with targeted hospitals and healthcare providers.
    2. Negotiate cost effective contracts in compliance with all state, provider, and corporate requirements.
    3. Manage/negotiate medical claims for non-contracted providers in established markets.
    4. Specific projects/data analysis as directed by VP Network Development.
    5. Provide support for pre-bid assessments for the business development team, securing Letters of Intent and establishing preliminary relationships.
    6. Responsible for maintaining documentation for all hospital/provider contracts and assisting with providing information for audits.
    7. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
    8. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
    9. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
    10. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
    11. Perform other duties as assigned.
