Application Technician – Applications Engineering

Victaulic, the World Leader in
Mechanical Pipe Joining Systems, is searching for Application Technicians to
join our Application Engineering Team This
is an excellent opportunity to build your technical knowledge, communication skills
and problem solving skills to resolve complex problems.
This position incorporates a 3-6 month training program to
educate the employee on Victaulic products, processes, applications, and
customer interaction. The successful
candidate will also be exposed to Project Management, Product Management, and
Build a foundation of knowledge of piping products and
systems and Victaulic products.
Work to become a knowledgeable resource for
Victaulic Fire Protection products by:
Learning and understanding Victaulic’s line of fire
protection products including, but not limited to couplings, valves, devices, sprinkler
heads, Vortex, and flexible hose assemblies.
Gain a working knowledge of fire protection
systems and the key components of those systems.
Gain a base knowledge of applicable codes and
regulations including National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Underwriter’s
Laboratory (UL) and Factory Mutual (FM).
Using the knowledge gained, develop solutions to
a variety of complex situations that require independent judgment and ingenuity
and a quick response.
Address direct customer inquiries regarding
Victaulic fire protection product features, benefits and applications.
Provide technical and troubleshooting support
for customers utilizing Victaulic products by:
Communicating and working directly with
customers by phone, email, letters, and job site visits
Provide technical support as necessary to
customers visiting Victaulic
Utilize technical knowledge and investigative
skills to complete product investigations and troubleshooting.
Bachelor’s or Associates degree
in a technical or business field, certification from a vocational school or
completion of an apprenticeship, or equivalent experience is required.
Ability to problem solve in
person or through the use of electronic means (facetime, Skype, etc)
Knowledge of machinery,
hydraulic, electrical or other systems and their components.
Aptitude in using various hand
tools (socket sets, screwdrivers, impact wrenches) and precision measurement
tools (dial caliper).
The ability to communicate
technical concept’s in layman’s terms.
Communicate effectively using electronic media as well as written and
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Ability to work independently, self-motivated, with minimal
supervision. Attention to detail.
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically, possibility of
international travel once training is complete.
Capable of lifting 50 pounds and climbing/working on ladders and
Valid current driver's license with no restrictions to driving
