This position is located in Appleton, WI, you would need to be located in the area.  No relocation or sponsorship provided.

The Scrum Master takes a bold and vigilant attitude toward using servant-leadership to deliver the highest quality software projects. The Scrum Master must be experienced in the Scrum Framework and be well versed in the tenets and values of Scrum.  The Scrum Master will be responsible for protecting the team and for ensuring that the tenets and values are followed.  Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with engaging Product Owners who are new to the Scrum Framework.  We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that values speed and quality, with a strong desire to drive change as we continue our agile transformational journey.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Enables team in scrum development and product releases according to road maps for delivery
  • Facilitation of scrum ceremonies, including release planning, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospective, sprint review and ensuring full team engagement.
  • Facilitate technical coordination between scrum teams by participating in the “scrum of scrums” and proactively coordinating between inter-related work teams.
  • Work with the Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning, and to maintain backlog health in preparation for execution.
  • Guide Product Owners and Scrum teams in Minimum Viable Product (MVP) discussions.
  • Guide teams in delivering effective, quality source code in alignment with defined architecture.
  • Guide the scrum team on how to use Scrum best practices.
  • Monitor and track defects to ensure quality deliverables
  • Protect the team from external interference to enable optimal functionality and productivity
  • Anticipate, addresses and negotiate potential or actual impediments to team delivery (cultural barriers, logistical challenges)
  • Foster close collaboration across all team members; encourages cross-training and team support
  • Helping the teams to become worthy or respect
  • Administer metrics tracking and other duties on behalf of the team
  • Educate and drive adherence to the scrum principles across agile delivery teams.
  • Enforcement of the core agile and related practices, such as test driven development, unit test coverage, code reviews, continuous integration, simple design, and refactoring.
  • Manage budget, spend, and reconciliation.
  • Continuous evaluation of budget/burn-rate, estimation to completion AND reporting throughout project life cycle.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent project management experience.
    • 3 years of progressive project management / Agile responsibilities.
    • 3 years Scrum Master role applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.

    Knowledge/Skills Required

    • Experience with agile and project management software like Jira, SharePoint, and Project Online.
    • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
    • Good skills and knowledge of servant-leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
    • Experience Coaching distributed IT teams located in multiple time-zones and in complex environments with onsite-offshore model.
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
    • A plus: Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
    • A plus: Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification
