The Finance Manager will lead a team of analysts/senior analysts to provide analysis of internal manufacturing financial performance through all annual forecast and actual cycles. In addition, the position will oversee finance business partner support for MAKE global functions and analytics of manufacturing volumes through business cycles as well as partner with other finance functions within the Janssen Supply Chain organization to ensure seamless coordination through each financial cycle

The position is responsible for various aspects of the financial processes such as:

  • Lead the development of the annual business plan and major forecast updates for internal manufacturing sites, including partnering with Sr. Finance Director to develop and communicate targets

  • Lead quarterly financial closing/reporting, communicate expectations with Site and Platform finance team to facilitate accurate and timely submission of results. Lead reviews with MTO Finance leaders and conduct reviews with Functional Leadership.

  • Oversee analysis of performance versus financial plans/commitments and drive analytics and insights on financial results.

  • Oversee consolidation and analysis of financial data related to volumes for actuals and forecast cycles; provide analysis on variances to forecast as well as forecast to forecast analytics.

  • Partner with Finance leadership to develop the Long Range Financial Plan supported by the functional strategy and connected to future forecast and actual cycles.

  • Oversee the development and analysis of investment opportunities, including areas such as inventory optimization activities, capital planning process for all cycles

  • Work with the manufacturing site controllers and platform finance directors to develop and report platform analytics on an on-going basis to support competitive benchmarking and other analytical tools.

  • Lead the development of consistent processes and metrics across platforms

  • Perform or lead ad-hoc requests and analysis; Supports continuous improvement activities

  • Other activities include identifying and implementing finance process improvements consistent with SDM and ESP

  • Manage staff of 3-5 analysts/senior finance analysts; develop talent and measure performance. Participate in improvement of talent processes and contribute to enhancing employee experience in JSC Finance

  • Participates in training to increase knowledge & skill


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance

  • A CPA, CMA, MBA or other financial certifications are preferred

  • A minimum of 5 years finance or accounting business experience is required

  • Strong accounting and compliance-related skills are required

  • Ability to partner, effectively communicate and influence others at all levels within a matrixed organization required

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or consumer products industry is preferred

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical segment finances, operations and strategy is preferred

  • Candidate must possess excellent analytical (MS Excel), conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working in a global environment is preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience with ability to drive a high performing finance organization and to develop future finance leaders is preferred

  • This position can be based in Horsham, PA or Raritan, NJ

  • Up to 15% domestic travel including occasional international travel may be required
