The Sales Executive will grow BW Flexible Systems business in assigned territories by securing new machinery orders.  This position is responsible for developing and implementing business strategies that will continue to expand the client base and foster customer loyalty within the territory.  The Sales Executive must create and implement both short and long term sales objectives and strategies that will meet the needs of the customer, increase market share, increase machinery orders and maximize product servicing. This is accomplished by working within the global corporate structure of BW Flexible Systems, the wider Barry-Wehmiller Packaging Platform, and with our customers in the region.  Position requires heavy travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales Territory: ME, VT, NH, MA, NY, RI, CT, NJ, PA, DE, MD, WV
  • Secure new machinery orders for Hayssen Flexible Systems horizontal flow wrapping machines, feed systems, and turn-key integrated packaging line projects
  • Develop and manage a clearly defined annual sales & marketing plan and submit monthly updates and recommendations to the sales leadership team.
  • Work closely with VFFS sales team to identify and capitalize on cross selling opportunities to foster overall territory growth
  • Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM suppliers, complimentary equipment suppliers, integrators, agents and allied sales professionals leading to increased sales.
  • Maintain contact with current and potential customers by building strong relationships and supplying product information to increase the likelihood of future sales orders
  • Mine for regional, client and industry information, analyze industry and client specific data and create and execute account specific strategies and tactics.
  • Foster strategies that investigate markets and applications that we are currently not pursuing or fully engaged with but are within the core competencies of the company
  • Provide detailed information regarding customer requirements, specifications, applications, etc. so accurate and timely sales proposals are produced for the customer when requested
  • Keep abreast of competitive and customer activity along with customer needs, and communicate information to the appropriate individuals within the company, so strategic decisions can be made to increase the company’s competitive edge in the marketplace
  • Assists in the resolution of customer claims and ensures resolution of customer complaints following department policy 
  • Support and actively utilize CRM software to maintain accurate records of all contacts, activity reports, opportunities and competitive information for prospects, customers, and competitors
  • Develop and demonstrate a working knowledge of the relevant finance mechanisms for conducting business in the region.
  • Promote the availability of company services (such as spare parts, training and field service) along with capabilities in other areas of the Barry-Wehmiller companies to customers to increase sales
  • Facilitates product demonstrations and provides assistance in identifying and qualifying opportunities 
  • Effectively makes recommendations concerning market trends, competitive products and pricing 
  • Maintain records and reports regarding all phases of activities as required
  • Accurately forecast quarterly sales activity and revenue achievement
  • Coordinates availability of engineering services to meet customer requirements
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering (preferred), or technical degree with significant proven industry experience
  • EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of five years of business to business sales experience with capital equipment or packaging industry related items
  • Solid knowledge of and experience with various types of packaging machinery and systems used in the food and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries
  • PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS            

  • Minimum of three years of technical or sales experience with complex feed systems and/or flow wrapping machinery
  • Key account management experience with major consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies
  • Experience in packaging machinery wholesale business model working with distributors, resellers, agents, and lead finders

  • Must live within close proximity to airport.
  • Ability to travel extensively through a multi-state territory in the Northeast
  • May require occasional overseas, international travel
