Job Description Staffmark has an immediate opening for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. Our customer is a leader in the Aerospace Industry offering outstanding wages, benefits and career opportunities. This specific openings will include a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties typically working out of a central warehouse. Compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, in stock, or issued. Requisitions need supplies; verifies material received to determine irregularities in order; inspects articles and rejects defective ones. Prepares inventory records and reports and investigates discrepancies in stock counts. Prepares data for computer input and works with computer printouts. Uses personal computer (PC) and material/production tracking software.
Uses paper and/or computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations. May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures.
  • Makes deliveries to 'All' departments within and outside of the company. Main function of this job is to keep all production employees engaged on their specific job functions.
  • Distributes stock among production workers.
  • Cuts stock to size to fill order.
  • Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
  • Work with leads to ensure inventory is available.
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
  • Packages contents according to instructions.
  • Other various duties as needed or as assigned.

  • Job RequirementsForklift experience and ability to lift at least 50 lbs. is a must. Requires continuous standing and frequent lifting/carrying, stooping/bending/squatting/pulling/pushing, twisting of the trunk and neck, reaching and grasping/squeezing. Occasional climbing/balancing. Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
