Job Description

The Compliance Auditor is responsible for protecting Western State Bank’s assets by completing audits; ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls; recommending improvements in internal control structure; providing input, feedback and training to team members throughout the Bank regarding regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation; recommends opportunities to strengthen the Bank’s internal control structure.
  • Completes audit work papers and memorandums by documenting audit tests and findings.  Communicates audit progress and findings by preparing reports; providing information in meetings and to appropriate team members and management for related follow up.
  • Conduct loan quality and compliance reviews of mortgage loans selected for monthly audits by re-verifying information and checking documentation to ensure compliance with established regulations and investor guidelines.
  • Assist the Senior Compliance Officer with the coordination and oversight of an effective Quality Control compliance program.
  • Compiling audit data in to the necessary reporting format(s).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.  Compliance Certifications and experience with automated compliance software or programs preferred.  Minimum of five (5) Years of prior financial institution compliance experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing programs and procedures required.
