Your role: Within Group Procurement the Corporate Sourcing Category Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) strategically manages all spend for Technical, Laboratory, Production Consumables, Office and Clothing & Protection Supplies.
You and your team will be responsible for the MRO subcategories’ sourcing strategy and execution, with a focus on the AMERICAS. Additionally, global subcategory sourcing coordination within the MRO category will be part of your duties. This will be for the subcategory Office (furniture and consumables). You will have two direct reports (Sourcing Managers) on your team who are focusing on strategic MRO Sourcing for the US. Also, there will be two dotted-line reports based out of Brazil and Mexico who oversee managing the spend in the Latin America. Furthermore, you will also be leading global sourcing projects in virtual global teams spanning the entire world. You will be reporting directly to the MRO Corporate Sourcing Global Lead Director based out of Germany. You will shape a continuous dialogue with business partners & key stakeholders while navigating within the international Procurement network. In addition, you will develop, adapt and execute sourcing strategies, lead and participate in projects as well as gain profound knowledge of category related supply markets and market trends (e.g. process optimization through implementation of low-touch solutions). As a key task, you will drive the process to identify, qualify, evaluate and develop best-in-class suppliers as well as establish and manage professional business relationships with them.
Who you are: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent. Ideally, engineering/scientific knowledge or MBA (or equivalent). Minimum of 6 years sourcing experience, preferably in related industries and at global organizations in Healthcare and/or Life Science industries. Experience in people management and cross-cultural virtual team management. Experience in MRO, Lab Supply, Clothing & Protection and Office Supplies/Furniture demand, markets and sourcing strategies specifically for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Energetic, flexible, outspoken team player capable of forming strong relationships throughout matrix organizations. Results oriented, problem solving, decision making and execution focused. Ability to lead and influence across the organization, with or without direct authority. Willingness to frequently travel within US and, periodically, to Europe or Latin America
• Fluent in English language - IT-Skills in SAP ERP, SAP BW, MS Office (mainly Excel and PowerPoint). Experience in e-catalogs (also implementation) and Ariba preferred.
