Position: Project Manager II
Type: Contingent
Duration: 6 months
Location: Bellevue WA

Position Overview

The Project Manager II role will provide project and program management leadership to critical cross-team business initiatives, focusing on software and potentially some hardware related efforts. A strong technical project management and program management background is required. The Project Manager II will drive the on-time, in-scope, and on-budget execution of multiple parallel projects across the business making use of key technology resources. This role will be expected to drive delivery using processes and tactics employing various methodologies and by leveraging tools such as MS Project. This individual must be able to build out new projects which are still in the formation stage, manage a number of simultaneous projects and tasks, and demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects and tasks to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project schedules and resource requirements based on planning methodologies, deliverables, schedules, and tasks
  • Coordinate and scheduling cross-functional resources and projects across multiple areas
  • Draw upon experience with different development projects/programs to manage, build and adapt processes as a template for repeatable program and project execution
  • Facilitation, coordination and project management of cross-functional team tasks and activities
  • Work with cross-functional teams across Technology and the business to ensure project task accuracy and drive resolution of issues and constraints
  • Communicating planning and schedule status, dependencies, issues and risks in a timely manner
  • Identify and resolve problems, planning issues, and project changes
  • Escalate unresolved issues requiring senior management and business attention
  • Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline; certification in program management desired
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience
  • Hands-on experience with project management methodologies, such as Scrum
  • Experience hiring and managing consultants or vendors
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Sound understanding of the fundamentals of project management processes
  • Lead project teams and projects to overall success
  • Ability to use formal methodology to execute projects or employ alternate appropriate methodologies
  • Must be able to juggle multiple activities at one time
  • Strong understanding of business and financial situations where decisions are made using cost/benefit analysis and payback periods
  • Able to analyze data, make independent decisions, and take appropriate action, including appropriate remediation and escalation when needed.
  • Strong MS Office and MS Project knowledge
