How you will make an impact - Other duties as assigned - Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information - Manage and review, including verify, source documents - Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities - Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll - Ensure employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and confidential information - Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll - Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities - Exercise of proper data management by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data - Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines - Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures - Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation - Put together for department heads the circulation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis - Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required - Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements - Payroll experience desired - Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference - Prior experience working with collections/accounting software - Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills - Previous experience handling high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. - Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen - 2+ years of strong payroll experience - Mastery of internal controls
