Perform experiments in support of company drug discovery goals with increased levels of independence relative to experience and ability with solid trouble shooting skills. Apply understanding of scientific concepts and immunological principles. Document and communicate work clearly and concisely.

Duties & Responsibilities\:

  • Plans and executes experiments using standard and non-standard laboratory techniques to achieve defined objectives. Develops, optimizes and validates new methods/assays with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrates scientific and technical expertise relevant to project goals.

  • Organizes own work and understands priorities, but receives confirmation from manager.   May make informed technical judgments to adapt protocols to achieve goals

  • Interprets results, troubleshoots and solves technical issues, Draws conclusions from experiments and begins to apply theoretical knowledge to interrogate target biology.

  • Communicates and defends own experimental results in lab, small group and project team meetings. Writes complete drafts for scientific documents and modifies appropriately after review.  May present posters at external meetings or technical work at ad hoc cross functional meetings

  • Consults scientific literature, technical information and leverages internal network of experts to develop/on-board new methods/techniques and then applies them in consultation with supervisor

  • Collaborates within the lab and group to responsibly operate/maintain lab equipment and address general laboratory issues. Implements lab processes for good of entire group and proactively communicates progress/potential issues of collective reagents/equipment with stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with appropriate groups in response to questions/requests in a timely manner 

  • May assist with technical supervision/training of interns/new hires

  • Requirements\:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with six plus (6+) years of experience in related scientific discipline

  • Must have good understanding of basic scientific principles and research practices in the field of immunology

  • Proficient in a variety of experimental techniques/technologies such as mammalian cell tissue culture, transfection methods, ELISA, western blots, flow cytometry and/or RT-qPCR. Prior research experience in assay development/optimization

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with computers and experience with data analysis software

  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment

  • Experience with syngeneic, spontanteous, and/or PDX cancer models is highly desired

  • Eligibility Requirements\:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
