Job Description The Vice President, Global Quality has the corporate-wide accountability for the strategy, direction, development, implementation, and continual improvement of quality systems and programs.  This position shall establish the policy and objectives for, and commitment, to quality, and ensure that the policy and supporting programs are understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organization.  This position shall support the investigation and, if necessary, withdrawal or recall of product from the market.  The VP- Global Quality is Executive with Management responsibility for Quality, and is the primary contact and communicator with Senior Management on Quality program effectiveness and reportability.

Responsibilities


  • Develops global strategic quality programs, objectives and priorities to achieve full compliance with all regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Provides centralized direction of quality policy establishment, approval of quality systems and standards, and availability of high level functional expertise, as needed.
  • Develop programs that capitalize on best practices in the industry to lead continual improvement initiatives for the quality function.  Scope includes quality assurance, quality systems, quality control, quality engineering, specification systems, supplier quality audits, internal quality audits, continual process improvements, and consumer complaint investigations. 
  • Provides oversight of the Consumer Relations department and guidance on communication of critical consumer issues to management, marketing and manufacturing.
  • Ensures proper handling of all quality-related issues including the escalation to CAPA (Corrective Action Preventive Action) investigations, and review of regulatory reportability due to malfunction or safety hazards. 
  • Serves as Chair of the Product Action Committee (PAC) which oversees evaluation and recommendations for product withdrawals or recalls from the market.
  • Serves as Chair of the Global Quality Council, comprised of the CEO and EVPs, to convey the state of quality for the company, to report any significant quality issues, and to recommend quality improvements to the Senior Management Team.
  • Management Representative of the Quality System for the company ensuring that quality system requirements are effectively established and effectively maintained, and reports on the effectiveness of the quality system in the annual Corporate Management Review.
  • Develop, monitor and report on metrics that measure quality conformance and improvement for business critical processes of the company.


  • Qualifications


  • Minimum BS degree from accredited institution in science, with advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D.) in business or science highly desirable.
  • Senior level QA management experience demonstrating experience as a strategic and change control leader.
  • Minimum of 15+ years in the household and personal care consumer products industry.  Medical Device, OTC, Dietary Supplement, Food, Cosmetic product experience desirable.
