Job Description JOB SUMMARY:

This Supply Chain ERP Subject Matter Expert (Master Planner) role will be the supply chain master planning and production planning , inventory management subject matter expert for Tecomet ERP and will support the Supply Chain Manager to develop the proper ERP processes and tools to support the following ERP functionality, Item Master Creation (planning & purchasing parameters) , Demand management forecast entry (imports and exports) and master planning report development in support of our Sales and Operations planning processes. Inventory Management, location setups and inventory reporting. ERP planner workbench and planning reports in support of our manufacturing environment make to stock as well as make to order products. Experience with ERP purchasing functionality, tools and reports to provide support to the ERP Purchasing core team member is a secondary requirement. Works with site core team subject matter experts for involvement of testing new ERP functionality and implementations in support of the SC ERP continuous improvement roadmap.


  • The supply chain ERP subject matter expert will be a member of the Global ERP core team in support of the Tecomet ERP roadmap
  • Prior master planning (Oliver Wight), demand management responsibility as well as hands on understanding of ERP demand management and tactical production planning, from the Demand Management Module (Forecast Entry), Capacity Planning Module on through the ERP planner workbench.
  • Understand how to align ERP dispatch lists (tactical production planning) with actual demand (Sales orders and Forecasts), through the merging of tactical and strategic planning methods .
  • Working with the Engineering ERP Global Core team member insuring we have proper work instructions developed for the management of the Item Master – Part Tracker to insure the proper setup and management of supply chain critical fields.
  • Capacity Planning – ERP knowledge on how to setup resources, resource groups, shift schedules and calendars to insure that capacity planning within ERP is setup and understood by the business to manage capacity properly upon Go-Live.
  • Work with the ERP Core Team to setup the test database and conduct system setup and testing of the ERP instance
  • Prepare project status reports for your assigned area of responsibility and maintain/update and schedule/coordinate project meetings – for management, and external ERP support.
  • Interact between fellow ERP core team members to insure we are implementing the proper supply chain functionality to support the future growth of Tecomet.
  • Insure that SC ERP is tested , configured and documented with work instructions (standard work)
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by Management as deemed appropriate.

  • ERP – Epicor, SAP or Oracle
  • Decision–making capabilities.
  • Ability to create and manage milestone schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Project or equivalent software programs.
  • Knowledge of Value Stream mapping , Demand Management (S&OP) and tactical production planning
  • Able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Able to coordinate and lead small groups.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from ERP users and external ERP consultants.
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proven knowledge of “root cause” problems solving skills.
  • Able to analyze and proactively look for issues that may delay projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year University;
  • APICS certification preferred (CPIM, CPSM)
  • 5-7 years related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior Experience supporting ERP implementations and supply chain process improvements.

  • Well lighted, heated/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the facility/facilities as needed.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE.
