Provide desktop support for Macintosh and/or PC based computing environment including installation and configuration of desktop computers and peripherals, software installation, problem diagnosis, problem resolution, and hardware/software training.
Responsibilities of this position are wholly Meredith employee focused. This position will interface with multiple levels of Meredith employees. Effective performance of these job responsibilities will ensure that Meredith employees can use the desktop computing environment to perform their own job.
This position provides excellent customer support and consults on a wide range of highly technical issues with minimal assistance. The incumbent works in a team environment and provides or requests teammate assistance as necessary. This position contributes technical analysis skills and occasionally leads Desktop integration projects.
Essential Job Functions
Supports, resolves, monitors, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems.
Works with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes, and perform standard admin functions.
Research, test and implement desktop technologies and software to meet customer needs.
Maintains professionalism, good attitude and appropriate behavior with all Meredith personnel and clients.
Provides customer training and support on high level technical problems without assistance
Assists, encourages, and serves as a backup to other team members
Assist in maintaining documentation, customer profiles, desktop inventories.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Minimum 2 years' experience. Directly applicable internship or co-op experience may be considered.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Macintosh and/or PC hardware, software, operating systems, configuration. Knowledge of Android and iOS mobile operating systems. Software installation; hardware installation; desktop configuration; hardware diagnosis; problem solving; analytical ability; effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to interface with a wide range of personalities; work in a team environment; accurate key stroking; scheduling; time management, record keeping; promote customer satisfaction and ensure problem resolution.
