Job Description

 Duties

  • Safe practice
  • Builds strong relationships with customers for long term
  • Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through sale closure in an assigned territory.
  • Promotes new and used forestry equipment products.
  • Responsible for meeting target performance goals within assigned territory.
  • Become familiar with financing options, licensing policies and procedures, and warranty registrations.
  • Maintains accurate customer account and machine population database.
  • Monitors market conditions and competitor’s products and pricing.
  • Interacts with client contacts and prospective customers to demonstrate products and explain features.
  • Consults with clients after sales and/or contract signings to resolve problems and provide ongoing support.
  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on customer invoices.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Appraises used equipment.
  • Forecasts annual territory sales.
  • Participates in training and obtains required certifications as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education will be considered.
  • Experience in the sale of forestry equipment preferred
  • Sales training, experience and territory management experience preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with exceptional presentation, negotiation, and business acumen.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar industry, equipment, basic mechanics, and the local market preferred
  • Must be sales-driven and experienced with consultative selling techniques.
  • Must have safe driving record with no more than one reportable in past 36 months.
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time within territory.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • High energy, excellent self-motivation and work ethic.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a complex environment.
  • Versatile and enthusiastic personality
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions wearing proper PPE.
