The GIS/CAD Supervisor will direct the posting of work orders and records changes into the GIS/CAD system in accordance with standard operating procedures. The primary focus of the team is to maintain records of where Windstream OSP facilities are located, how they are connected, and what traffic they carry. The team will also use this data as required for the creation of work prints for new construction.


The Supervisor will be responsible for workload management and planning, providing routine work order status reports, coordinating and supervising work order flow, posting completion schedules, and management of productivity and quality control. The Supervisor will work with other departments to coordinate GIS/CAD requirements, assist in the implementation of changes to G/Technology, G/NetViewer, G/MobileViewer, ESRI ArcGIS, and MicroStation.

The job queue includes work print creation, final posting and closing of work orders, data corrections, and landbase additions and updates. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Experience with OSP Engineering print creation using MicroStation, AutoCAD, FRAMME, G/Technology, ArcGIS Desktop or Pro, or other similar applications.
  • Must have a working knowledge of OSP copper and fiber network components, network symbology and the work order process.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills, be flexible and assertive and able to lead through change.
  • Must be able to handle conflict, work easily with others and be a team player.
  • Ability to effectively read, analyze, interpret, communicate, and present information in both a written and a non-written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communication.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to quickly and efficiently learn applications, systems, policies and procedures

  • Job RequirementsMinimum Requirements:

    College degree and 5+ years professional level experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or 8+ years professional level related experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
