The Director, PMO Crisis Management will report into the VP, Engineering & Property Service. This individual provides project management and coordinates all the relevant functions across Johnson & Johnson for natural (e.g., hurricanes, floods, earthquakes), wartime, or technological (e.g., hazardous materials spills) disaster situations that impact our employees, facilities, or product flow to customers.

This role will coordinate with cross-functional team to plan and direct disaster response or crisis management activities, provide preparedness training, prepare and coordinate emergency plans and procedures for the organization, and lead emergency project management through recovery, including status reports and progress updates to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities


  • Assessment, Program Planning: He/she is partnering across functions in response to emergencies and coordinates response teams for developing, coordinating and managing all emergency planning, execution, and recovery activities.

  • Emergency Project management and Implementation: He/she manages the command center for the disaster management, integrate the information as the control tower, coordinate disaster response or crisis management activities, provide project management to ensure the execution excellence of the portfolio of actions,

  • Progress Update: Prepares emergency situation status reports that describe response and recovery efforts, needs, and preliminary damage assessments.

  • Disaster Program Support:

  • Keep informed of activities or changes that could affect the likelihood of an emergency, as well as those that could affect response efforts and details of plan implementation.

  • Prepare plans that outline operating procedures to be used in response to disasters or emergencies, such as hurricanes, accidents and in recovery from these events.

  • Engagement: Develop and maintain liaisons with external parties either directly or through internal groups such as Government Affairs, Media Relations, and Quality, in assisting municipalities, county departments, industry associations, and similar entities to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination, and exchanges of personnel, supplies and/or equipment.

  • Best Practice / External: Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops related to emergency management to learn new information and to develop working relationships with other emergency management specialists.

  • Cross Functional Stakeholders Include:

  • Facility Management / E&PS; Human Resources; Government Affairs, Security, Global Community Impact; Communications; Global Technical Service (IT); Value Chain Risk Management; Customer Logistics Service; Global Health; Global Security; Aviation/Flight Ops; Procurement;


  • Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an

    accredited university

  • A minimum of Ten (10) years overall relevant business experience and/ or the equivalent.

  • Proven exceptional experience with complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team under difficult circumstances, preferred with crisis management and large-scale

    project management experience

  • Proven ability to manage large scale

    projects in highly dynamic environments

  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills. The ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders. This includes effective negotiation and representation skills.

  • Ability to operate effectively under difficult circumstances including stress, time pressure and uncertain situation.

  • Is well planned and organized even within a fluid working environment and has a capacity for initiative and decision making with competent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to think outside normal approaches to identify innovative solutions to challenges presented and have can do attitude to break through status quo barriers This position will be located in any US J&J location with preference to New Brunswick, NJ and requires up to 20% Domestic and International Travel
