Job Description

This position is for an experienced Property Specialist with extensive knowledge and use of DPAS. The place of performance for this work will be in Huntsville, AL. This position will be responsible for property accountability, policies, procedures, performing various business functions, including preparing and editing charts, briefings and other documentation and performing customer service duties. Also responsible for handling project control, schedule of cost, risk management as well as other duties based on the degree of knowledge of the department operations. Knowledge of DPAS and computer software including Microsoft Office suite of products.

Responsibilities

This position requires performing administrative and clerical duties combined with various business functions, maintaining physical inventories, reconcilement of records, and resolving discrepancies, preparing charts and briefings, utilizing editing skills, and familiarity with the Accountability Property Systems of Record (APSR) including the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army). Will advise and assist with the planning, administering, implementation and direction of a property management program. Must be able to analyze and provide status of equipment received from various sources. Knowledge of and experience with non-fielded, fielded, and Government Furnished Property is required. Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 

Qualifications
  • BS with 6 years experience, or 16 years experience with HS or equivalent.
  • Experience in office administrative functions and use of office equipment.
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to include proper grammar, punctuation and sentence structure.
  • Assume responsibility for other duties based on the degree of knowledge of department operations.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with many projects/people simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be computer proficient and have experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with/understanding military protocol is desirable.
  • Experience with DPAS, GCSS-Army, and GFP is preferred.
