Senior Client Relations and Demand Planning Specialist

Position Summary

The Sr. Client Relations & Demand Planning Specialist acts as the Kansas City, MO Key Commercial Account primary contact and liaison related to supply of products and services from the site.  The Sr. Client Relations & Demand Planning Specialist will ensure Key Account customer satisfaction by taking ownership of sales order process from receipt to dispatch and billing, including related KPI’s and continuous improvement. The Sr. Client Relations & Demand Planning Specialist will build strong relationship with key stakeholders in the customer organization and ensure a consistent experience whilst promoting the Catalent brand, and will coach and develop the team to drive for service excellence.

The Role (daily responsibilities)

  • Act as the primary point-of-contact for KCM Key Commercial Accounts (internal & external). Responsibilities include:
  • Act as primary customer/site contact for assigned large-scale/key commercial accounts
  • Creates sales orders in the system in line with customer request date and send written order acknowledgement with firm promise date.
  • Proactively engages with customers to ensure forecasts are received on regularly agreed periods.
  • Creates, maintains, and communicate schedules, issues, and proactive updates with internal and external collaborators.
  • Counsels customers on forecast and order expectations to include escalation as appropriate; serves as back-up escalation point for smaller-scale customer questions.
  • Prepare and deliver timely updates on open orders of third party customers.
  • Maintain and update required reporting and information related to customer supplied material.
  • Provide support and information related to product shipments
  • Oversee invoicing process for international and external KCM Key Account Customers. Responsibilities include:
  • Ensure customer is billed appropriately for all products and services provided.
  • Partner with Finance Department to confirm POD and reconcile revenue accounts.
  • Manage effective resolution of billing issues for KCM Key Account Customers.
  • Manage Key Account contracts including:
  • New contract negotiations supporting the legal/BD teams.
  • Contract amendments, extensions, and terminations.
  • Gather, analyze, and disseminate Key Account Customer related data and metrics to management. Responsibilities include:
  • Track On Time Delivery (OTD) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for customers and provide feedback to management.
  • Track and report on customer forecast accuracy.
  • Provide periodic reporting to Supply Chain management.
  • Forecast monthly and quarterly revenue plan to Finance.
  • Other General Responsibilities:
  • Maintain customer files (hardcopy and electronic).
  • Additional duties/projects as needed.
  • The Candidate (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • PMP/CPIM certification is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in customer service, sales, global projects, or project management.
  • Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Must be computer literate with past experience using ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Advanced Excel skills preferable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to easily learn and retain technical information.
  • Well organized with ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Good problem solving skills, including innovative and creative solutions.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of individuals and personalities within and between departments.
