  • Reports to Supevisor of Planning Procurement with primary responsibilities including: 
  • Establishing and controlling production schedules to include placing and expediting orders from raw materials to finished goods inventory. 
  • Plans orders to support Master Production Schedule. 
  • Interacts with Marketing Engineering Core Group MIS and suppliers to maximize labor material utilization. 
  • Also coordinates inventory management activities. 
  • Good written and oral communication skills are a must. 
  • Must demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
  • Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Establishes and maintains production material inventory and purchase plan to support the master schedule.
    2. Maintains contact with the marketing product management forecasting legal departmental Regulatory Affairs customs house broker manufacturing teams and Accounts Payable.
    3. Maintains current status of all raw materials and purchased component shortages that affect or will affect the assigned product line.
    4. Releases and expedites shop orders and analyzes current short capacity.
    5. Assists in development of annual material orders and contracts.
    6. Coordinates the timely resolution of rejected purchased materials.
    7. Executes purchase orders and changes to achieve optimum delivery of materials in economical lots.
    8. Ensures availability of purchased materials necessary to support the production plan while maintaining the inventory within budgeted limits.
    9. Reviews and maintains data base integrity of assigned product lines.
    10. Quotes new and existing projects maintains valid competitive quotations on existing products and issues purchase orders to approved suppliers as per company policy. 

    Other Functions: •**These are non-essential job duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

    1. Interacts with Manufacturing Teams Engineering and Cost Accounting for the assigned products.
    2. Assists in EDCN process and initiates changes as required.
    3. Performs special assignments as required.

    Educaiton and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree OR 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelors Degree. 
  • MINIMUM: High school diploma along with 4 years of relevant experience. 
  • DESIRABLE: Some college background with professional recognition and APICS certification.
  • Three years production planning and purchasing. 
  • MRP experience - Desirable. 
  • PC expertise - Desirable. 
  • Focus programming would be helpful.
