Reporting directly to a Marketing Director, this position is responsible for managing marketing programs for the company’s in-lane and online wholesale auctions in multiple channels, including planning, execution, optimization, growth and budget management. This includes working with cross-functional teams to develop clear objectives and tactics, thinking strategically and understanding business drivers to retain existing business and support initiatives to gain new volume. Within this role, you must effectively use analytics and knowledge of industry trends to make decisions, managing marketing cost per campaign and tracking campaign effectiveness. You must be a proven multi-tasker with ability to manage a variety of programs to meet the prioritized business objectives, delivering programs on time, on-budget and meeting company goals for ROI.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Study and analyze industry the market dynamics, economic conditions and buyer/seller behaviors. Use this understanding to forecast future product offerings and services that enhance customer value and help the company meet its business objectives.
  • Develop and manage integrated standardized, long-term marketing campaigns for both internal and external customers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage customer engagement and growth initiatives
  • Managing dealer-consigned programs and promotions in U.S. and Canada
  • Managing commercial-account programs and promotions in U.S. and Canada
  • Managing promotions for ADESA.c and the company’s mobile applications
  • Communicating site updates to company-managed sites in U.S. and Canada
  • Providing marketing support for sister companies and other subsidiaries
  • Provide marketing support for auction locations
  • Customize or update standardized campaigns for specific seller or location need.
  • Participate in opportunities to meet with customers to better understand their needs and advocate development of integrated business strategies that build stronger customer loyalty.
  • Oversee creation, negotiation and review client marketing and promotional programs. 
  • Communicate appropriately with clients to propose marketing strategies.
  • Utilize all promotional tactics if appropriate, including print, electronic, and direct marketing outlets. Work with other team members to manage and implement all forms of media (including but not limited to):
  • Advertisements in publications
  • E-mail campaigns
  • Web banners
  • Signage
  • Creative
  • Procure service vendors (e.g. caterers, entertainers, etc.) and negotiate contract pricing as needed for approved marketing events.  Present negotiated contracts to auction management for signing and coordinate service-vendor relationships according to agreements.  Direct the purchase of promotional items and marketing collateral from approved distributors according to promotional plans and in a timely fashion to minimize shipping charges.
  • Direct implementation rollout to each of the participating auctions.
  • Monitor competitive strategies and apply as needed.
  • Track and report marketing campaign effectiveness.
  • Work closely with marketing team members to deliver corporate marketing initiatives as assigned.
  • Practice and promote teamwork at all times.  Provide back-up to other team members as needed.  Set a good example of attitude and performance.
  • Ensure proper follow-through on all projects, directives and schedules
  • Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline and at least one to three (1-3) years of marketing or advertising experience is required. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multi task and manages deadlines well.
  • Ability to think strategically but act tactically.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of grammar, punctuation and AP Stylebook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to represent the company both orally and in writing in a professional and positive manner.
  • Project planning and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of quality work and output.
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite of software and the Internet.
  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel is required.
