It is the primary responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer to perform special project maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems within the facilities and to accomplish all functional duties. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Bellagio Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.
Performs routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems throughout the property.
Performs preventive maintenance on AC units evaporator coolers, walk-in coolers.
Performs repairs, replacement or installation of evaporator/condenser fans, thermostat, motors, belts and compressors.
Replace plumbing fixtures throughout property to ensure proper function.
Install or re-direct electrical circuits as needed.
Walk daily routes and make necessary repairs.
Recognizes equipment that needs repairs, adjustments, or replacement.
Responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management.
Maintains equipment and logbooks.
Ensures that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat and orderly at all times.
Keeps informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods.
Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
Performs assigned duties during emergencies.
Performs all other job related duties as requested.
At least 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a hotel or industrial complex property.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to change out electrical components such as outlets, fixtures and switches.
Ability to effectively communicate, both in person and over the phone when dealing with management, employees, and guests.
Ability to repair, replace, install faucets, pipes, hot water heater, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, refrigerators.
Working knowledge of mathematical skills such as; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Working knowledge of repair and preventative maintenance of facilities equipment, perception and awareness of the Hotel’s maintenance goals and policies.
Operate power and hand tools to complete job assignments in a timely manner.
Properly use drain clearing equipment including jetters.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
