Job Description Description

The Material Operator is responsible for carrying out basic material handling, facility support, and gown room functions. Site protocols must be followed at all times.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives products from receiving docks; may operate motorized or non-motorized material handling equipment.
  • Delivers customer packages, materials and glassware.
  • Pulls and stocks gowns; monitors hanger/bins.
  • Monitors and maintains office supplies.
  • Sets up and breaks down conference rooms (tables, chairs, etc.).
  • Sets up movie projectors, slides, VCR and electrical equipment.
  • Facility housekeeping and other basic building support functions.
  • Drives various vehicles to transport and deliver packages/materials between sites or buildings.
  • US mail delivery.
  • Experience & Skills:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills; display a professional can-do attitude
  • High regard for safety, quality, and site/customer protocols, policies and procedures
  • Must be flexible and adaptable
  • Must have the ability to act independently
  • Must be able to safely lift 50lbs minimum
  • Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups.
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Material handling experience preferred and/or applicable work experience
  • Forklift Certification a plus

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to a warehouse environment and office environment. The associate may work near moving mechanical machinery and noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment, and may be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases.
  • The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull.( Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.)
  • Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foot controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
