Leads all activities of the security/safety department to accomplish the objectives established for all entities of the Safety and Security Committee, the Board of Directors, Aston Hotels & Resorts, federal and state laws and insurance companies. Ensures efficient performance in the security department.
Immediately respond to all emergencies and implement property procedures for handling such emergencies.
Consistent support and enforcement of property policies relating to employee and guest safety and security.
Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
Know and have a thorough understanding of all relevant Federal, Provincial and Municipal Acts to include Trespass to Property.
Complete reports for all accidents, criminal activities, suppressions, fraud, violence, property damage, personal injury, trespassing and elimination of pilferage.
Identify and minimize fire, safety and health hazards.
Control and account for keys to critical areas of the property.
Assists in the implementation and development of programs for protection and prevention in order to safeguard company assets and reduce guest or employee injury. Assist in the development of emergency procedures for all possible incidents (i.e. terrorism, earthquake, fire, hurricane, etc.)
Ensures departmental documentation meets legal specifications and is accurate for regulatory litigation purposes.
Coordinates all loss prevention functions, (i.e. security, safety and first aid) meeting individualized entity needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate or Bachelors degree.
One years experience with Bachelors or five years with Associates degree in fire safety, loss control and risk management or law enforcement. Ability to multi-task and work under extreme pressure in emergency situations. Basic computer skills required.
Valid drivers’ license required. Valid State of Hawaii Guard Card. First Aid Certification attainable within 3 months.
