Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in search of a Payroll Clerk in Providence, Rhode Island (RI).Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Payroll Coordinator with duties listed below
  • Perform weekly payroll timesheet processing and review
  • Weekly collection of completed timesheets including follow up on missing timesheets
  • Coding of timesheets for worked and non-worked hours for all employees; Review timesheets for reasonableness against pay policies and practices and follow up on questions; Bring issues to the attention of the Director, working to proactively resolve directly with managers, human resources, and others as needed
  • Calculate shift differentials, premiums, and supplemental pay within pay policies and practices
  • Verify earned time used versus available bank balance, following up on any issues
  • Verify coded timesheets for accuracy
  • Perform data entry and verification of pay data into third party payroll processing software, meeting scheduled deadlines including availability of weekly data for management reporting
  • Reconcile (in Excel) entered ADP information to ensure correct information was processed, comparing to ADP Summary before payroll is rejected/accepted
  • Prepare of timesheets for upcoming week
  • Process payroll within required timeframes
  • Create and distribute supplemental payrolls as assigned
  • Job Requirements

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate's degree or equivalent training and education
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of payroll experience in a complex full cycle pay environment
    • Experience with ADP payroll, HRIS, and/or time & attendance systems desired; Experience with performing payroll-related accounting functions, with other accounting experience strongly preferred (e.g. accounts payable, reconciliations, entering journal entries, account analysis)
