Functional Overview

General Mills is seeking an Integrated Shopper Marketing (ISM) Promotions Manager to create and execute customer-centric, retailer level marketing and event programs in partnership with our Brands, Sales teams and retailers. This is an exciting and impactful role within General Mills Integrated Shopper Marketing (ISM) organization. As the ISM Promotions Manager for our Walmart team and Sam’s Club team, you’ll be accountable for the strategic development and execution of our Shopper Marketing plans. This is a high-profile position with considerable accountability and ownership.


In this role you will:

  • Responsible for the strategic development, selling and execution of best in class Shopper Marketing plans at Walmart that grow our categories and brands. These plans will range from large scale events to solo brand initiatives covering both gen pop and multicultural targets
  • Provide leadership in the effective incorporation of digital into our marketing mix
  • Build strong working relationships with key decision makers at Walmart, both across General Mills Sales and Marketing organizations
  • Lead our agency partners in the development of creative specific to delivering the plan
  • Oversee the analysis of our Shopper Marketing plans to determine what’s working, what’s not and why with focus on deepening our digital impact
  • Build and develop best in class Shopper Marketing talent
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of previous marketing/promotions experience
  • Demonstrated ability to translate insights into powerful marketing programs/platforms
  • Understanding of how to use Digital/Social mediums as part of a marketing mix
  • Proactive leadership in identifying new opportunities and in managing day to day operations
  • Exceptional teaming and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skill set 
  • Ability to travel as needed (10%)
