Job Description Silgan Containers is excited to present this unique opportunity for an experienced Regional Payroll Supervisor. 
Silgan Containers is a division of Silgan Holdings which operates 100 manufacturing facilities in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Silgan is a leading supplier of metal containers in North America and Europe for food and general line products. The Company is also a leading worldwide supplier of metal and plastic closures and dispensing systems for food, beverage, health care, garden, home and beauty products. In addition, Silgan is a leading supplier of plastic containers for shelf-stable food and personal care products and dispensing systems in North America.
The qualified candidate for our Regional Payroll Supervisor position will be required to provide leadership and expertise to the regional payroll function for 3 Divisions of Silgan Holdings. 
Examples of responsibilities include:
  • Manage and allocate the Regional Payroll team resources effectively to ensure the ability to continue the Regional Model rollout in 2018 and beyond.
  • Supervises all aspects of regional payroll ensuring accurate and timely processing of the Company’s multi-state, multi-site payroll (4,000+ hourly employees), and that payroll services are processed in accordance with established policies, procedures, labor agreements, and all legislative compliance requirements.
  • Collaborates with plant management, HR and payroll staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, addresses and helps to resolve issues that arise during payroll processing, and ensures that regional payroll is supported and trained.
  • Follow up and resolve issues related to payroll settlement, including but not limited to funding issues, unresolved processing errors, integration issues (workday, Kronos, ADP, etc.), paycheck delivery issues, and any other issues impacting the full payroll cycle.
  • In collaboration with the Corporate, off-site Payroll Manager, create and document policies and procedures for the Regional Payroll Office to create a standard operating model for the department.
  • Participate in system upgrades, discussion, etc. as it relates to the payroll function. Involvement in benefits related projects to determine impact on payroll processing.
  • Job RequirementsJOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Must be an effective leader that empowers and supports the payroll team and function.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR or other business-related field is preferred
    • Certified Payroll Professionals (CPP) designation preferred.
    • Working knowledge of HRIS systems, and experience in Workday Payroll, Kronos Time & Attendance Systems (iseries) is highly desirable.
    • Experience with Union Agreement mandates, Union Payroll, and the application of rules of pay from contracts.
    • Strong process and procedure orientation for continuous process improvements.
    • 5 years experience in leading multi-location, multi-state payroll processes.
    • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and vendors.
