Job Description

Responsible for coordinating and editing varying categories of online video content for Meredith Entertainment, with a focus on Martha Stewart brands. With supervision from Senior Video Editor, ensures that scheduling, editing, and other aspects of video productions are delivered to the requisite level of quality. This position will be responsible for crafting the most compelling video content possible and overseeing it from concept to delivery as it relates to editing. Must have broad-based production background with a focus on editing skills. Passion for innovative digital video editing, production, and social media a must.

Essential Job Functions


Prepare and edit video content for multiple platforms including, YouTube Channels, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Edit content based on programming needs as defined by Executive Producer or Senior Video Editor; specific functions include editing, use of department-approved graphics, art, and music, and execution of final videos in a deadline driven-environment for the Martha Stewart brand.


Follow through on tasks assigned by Senior Video Editor:
  • Gather all graphic and pre-production elements
  • Organize projects
  • Group cameras together
  • Create string outs
  • Ensure careful clearance of stills, videos, and music used
  • Archive and maintain record of master files
  • Log and notify fellow Editors and Producers of video status on a daily basis
  • Edit/fix mistakes, bugs, glitches or other various changes on video pages
  • Coordinate video linking to flat content
  • Daily upload of video files to all brand platforms.

    With Executive Producer and Senior Video Editor supervision, collaborate with cross-team Meredith Video producers and editors to support video production and editing assignments as needed.


    Other duties as assigned by the Executive Producer or Senior Video Editor.

    Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.


    Bachelor's degree in Film/TV, New Media, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.


    Minimum of 3 years of editing digital video for a digital publisher, brand, television or cable network. Adobe Premiere required. After Effects and Photoshop experience highly desirable.

    Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    An excellent and always expanding knowledge of online video-both creation and distribution on multiple platforms.

    Immersed in pop culture and aware of trends; finger on the pulse of social media at all times.

    Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop

    An interest in food and lifestyle programming highly desired.

    Team player who thrives on collaboration and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
    Calm under pressure with an ability to problem solve on the fly and maintain composure.

    Script writing and ability to craft a good story related to video editing important.

    Good communication skills, in writing and in person.

    Flexible regarding work schedule and willing to travel if needed.

    Must have a valid driver's license.
