Summary: We are seeking a 2nd shift Laser Weld Machine Operator for our Aerospace division in Shelbyville, KY who can perform tasks such as; setting up tools and equipment to operate laser weld equipment for production. Must complete a laser weld operator training curriculum that is provided. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned: • Load and unload parts. • Possesses basic computer skills. • Setup machine, tooling, fixtures independently, • Knowledge of measuring tools to assure required quality standards are met. • Follows all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the laser weld and cut machines and related equipment as well as any other jobs to which he/she may be assigned. • Ability to work in manufacturing environment and frequently lift up to 50 lbs and use hand tools • Ability to pass pre-employment math test, drug screen, physical exam and criminal background check.Requirements Qualified applicants will have: • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) • One to three months related experience and or training • Meet Laser Welding operator Vision Requirements: • Pass annual vision testing consisting of Near Vision – Jaeger J2 at not less than 16 inches and Distance Vision of 20/30 or better.Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
