Essential Functions

  • Take signatures from customers and notarize documents.
  • Must be professional in the presentation of loan documents, such as the note, settlement statement and Deed of Trust and remain confidential and professional. Give a brief explanation of what the document is that is being executed.
  • Refer all questions or concerns to Escrow Officers. This position should not offer advice on processes or procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.

  • Typical Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred

  • Typical Range of Experience

  • Must have some background knowledge of mortgage lending business.
  • Possess basic real estate/escrow/title terminology.
  • 1 year related experience reviewing and notarizing documents.

  • License or Certification

  • Must be a notary public
