A manufacturing company in Shelton, CT is looking for a final inspection/quality inspector. Must have amazing eyesight, patience, attention to detail and steady hands. They must be quick to inspect their product and but be punctual/reliable.



POSITION: Final Inspection/Quality Inspector



LOCATION: Shelton, CT



HOURS & COMPENSATION: Full time 40 hours per week



Monday-Thursday 7-4 with a half an hour break for lunch. Friday 7-1 no lunch.



$11-13.50/Hour depending on experience and potential.



WHAT WE DO: We are a contract manufacturer of Printed Circuit Boards. We provide the labor to assemble circuit boards for our customers.



JOB DUTIES: The final inspector will be responsible for inspection of all product immediately prior to shipping out the door. They will be inspecting solder joints as well as the product being 100% complete to make sure that when it arrives at the customer, there are no missing/broken/not soldered parts, so that it will pass their tests and they can proceed with their product. Applicant must be patient, have great eyesight, preferably someone who does not need an eye loop or any kind of magnifier to inspect the product. They need to be extremely meticulous. Need to be able to look at a certain run of boards for potentially several hundred pieces which is where the patience needs to come in. Every single board need to be inspected with the same level of care. The final inspector will be taught to use an automated optical inspection machine as well as inspecting the product manually. I cannot stress enough that the applicant needs to be extremely patient, diligent, and trainable.



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED. Experience preferred



Some soldering experience or electronics background is definitely preferred and a plus. Much easier to train an applicant that knows about inspecting good solder joints and how to solder.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing or sitting for short-long periods of time. Ability to sit and stand back up sometimes within minutes of each other. Ability to carry 10-25 pounds. Ability to inspect very small components on PCBs for long periods of time.



TRAINING PLAN: All hired applicants will be trained in mandatory company procedures and safety as described in the Employee Manual.



ISO9001:2008 Quality System



Additional training to include but not limited to: part identification, machine setup, programming, stencil printing, SMT placement machine operation, reflow over operation, and operator maintenance of equipment.
