Job Description Overview

Cracker Barrel is looking for a top notch Compensation Analyst.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management of compensation programs designed to attract, retain, motivate, and reward employees throughout the company.  You will have the opportunity to develop compensation systems and incentive programs and be responsible for the communication of compensation designs, goals, and performance updates for assigned areas.

Responsibility
  • Oversees and conducts analysis, documentation, and evaluation of new or existing jobs and assists managers with compensation program design and analysis through education and recommendation
  • Performs the evaluation of new or existing jobs to ensure that the compensation is internally equitable, externally competitive, and complies with applicable labor laws.
  • Organizes, maintains, and stores all information related to the job analysis and evaluation.
  • Completes salary surveys and analyzes survey results. Evaluates the effectiveness of the job evaluation process and recommends changes as appropriate.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all compensation programs (base pay, short-term incentives, long-term incentives) for assigned functional areas.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of compensation programs within assigned areas through the analysis of trends and performance data.
  • Recommends changes that support the business objectives and performance management strategy.
  • May develop business models to evaluate and test program costs (payouts) at various performance levels.
  • Assists with department projects as requested by the Manager or Director of Compensation.
    Responsible for the communication of compensation plans/designs, goals, and performance updates for assigned areas.
  • Develops and manages compensation systems and processes to ensure that data integrity, accuracy, and security are maintained.
  • Administers compensation programs including salary and wage planning and salary review processes
  • Job Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree, 2 + years professional experience in HR, Finance, or Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Proficient computer skills including strong knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and presentation software (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access).
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
    • Knowledge of statistics.
    • Experience with business modeling.
    • Detail and multi-task oriented.
    • Basic knowledge of economic theories.
    • Knowledge of employment and wage and hour laws.
