This highly visible position located at our large manufacturing and distribution facility in York, PA Facility.
What you’ll do:
This position will provide human resources leadership, guidance and support in a lean manufacturing and distribution environment, including staffing, employee relations, adherence to plant policies, training, development and performance management.
Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture at the facility. Play an active and visible role in supporting all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
Continuously analyze and monitor staffing levels within the organization, engaging the recruiting process when necessary to ensure compliance with budgeted staffing levels required for effective plant operations. Proactively engage in aggressive recruiting efforts to attain high quality candidates such as cost-effective advertisement, job fairs, recruiting agencies, etc.
Lead employee engagement activities to improve morale, reduce turnover and foster a continuous improvement organizational culture and achieve targeted business objectives.
Act as an employee advocate and ensure compliance to the Company's human resources policies and appropriate government laws and regulations.
Administer the internal plant job bid system to include leading the interview process, active participation in candidate selection, facilitate all transfer and promotion policies and monitor time-to-fill.
Engage with employee relations issues as needed, including but not limited to incident investigation, documentation, issue resolution, corrective action, etc. Work with employees, Coordinators, Leaders and Managers to resolve conflicts in compliance with all CHD standards.
Champion Coordinator, Leader and Manager development and coaching for positive employee relations practices, legal requirements, compliance issues, etc.
Review all area corrective actions, performance improvement tools (including notes to file and formal performance improvement plans) and terminations. Present at all suspension and termination events.
Ensure fair and consistent application of all established human resources policies and procedures throughout the facility.
Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the human resources function and the facility, as well as make suggestions and champion action plans around those opportunities. Drive action items to completion.
Maintain external relationships with vendors, human resources organizations and associations.
Act as a liaison for temporary staffing agencies, ensure service levels are met as well as safety and training requirements. Assist in employee relations issues as needed.
Cross functional human resources, safety and training support including payroll, benefits, HRIS. Serve as a back-up to the Human Resources Manager as needed.
Foster and maintain good employee relations through all the appropriate methods of communications and positive employee relations practices.
Track key performance indicators and metrics with action plans for improvement.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:

Excellent organizational/time management skills.
Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
Solid critical thinking skills, ability to analyze data and solid decision making abilities required.
Strong computer skills required, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) Work Day or other HRIS experience a plus.
Shift flexibility including start / stop times to connect with employees in a 24 / 7 scheduling environment. Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field preferred.
SHRM-CP (certified professional) or SHRM-SCP (senior certified professional) certification a plus.
3-5 years previous human resources generalist experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment preferred, including staffing, employee relations, etc.
