RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Austin, Texas (TX) seeking a Data Warehouse Developer.Summary:The Data Warehouse Developer is responsible for translating the customer and business needs from domain specific use cases and data shapes into universal structures supporting various forms of analysis including operational reporting, comparative analysis, performance science, and predictive or machine learning. As a modeler in our platform you will be tasked with absorbing domain specific concepts like a sponge and asking the further questions of; How do you intend to use this data now that we have it?; or What and how might existing performance measures be impacted by this new element or any projected combinations of this element? You will be challenged to define the best possible structures for storing the information provided by our platform level data feeds and be responsible for authoring the process by which we will populate them at a truly impressive scale.Here's just a snapshot of what your day-in-the-life will look like with the team:
  • Collaborate with other Data Modelers and ETL Developers about the most efficient methods for storing and processing data for ESO
  • Participate in sprint planning and execution exercises as part of an Agile development team
  • Create logical designs for structures in support of our business' analysis requirements
  • Convert the logical design into physical implementations in either or both traditional data warehousing and Big Data technologies
  • Implement model changes for our Analysis Services infrastructure in either Multi-Dimensional or Tabular mode
  • Author stored procedure interfaces for high speed single record stream processing ETL
  • Integrate change management activities into project plan
  • Participate in continuous integration
  • Job Requirements

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • At least 10 years of Data Warehousing experience (With Solid References)
    • Modeling experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse Methodologies (Kimball, Inman)
    • Experience with ETL technologies at scale from multiple data sources
    • Real world experience with SQL Server Analysis Services technologies (Multi-Dimensional and Tabular)
    • Experience with No SQL Technologies as data sources
    • Experience with blending Big Data Technologies and classic EDW technologies
    • Experience with GIT or other distributed source management technologies
    • Real life work experience with JIRA/AHA a plus
    • Experience working with standard BI tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, Business Objects etc. a plus
    • Hands on experience with Big Data technologies such as Hive, Spark, Impala, SparkSQL, Storm, NoSQL DBs a plus
    • Python experience a plus
    • Experience with Health Care Technologies a plus
    • Exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment Practices
    • Master level SQL skills (Authoring, Optimizing, Profiling)
    • You have strong communication skills, both written and spoken and like to have fun when working with co-workers, prospects and customers
    • Ability to balance priorities among the long-term vision and short-term execution of our products
    • Ability to work collaboratively to get results
    Preferred Skills:
    • Big Data technologies - Hadoop/Spark frameworks, SQL-over-Hadoop (Impala/Hive/SparkSQL), Stream Processing (Storm/Spark), Messaging (Kafka), NoSQL DBs (HBase, Mongo DB, Cassandra etc.) or, very motivated to learn and work with these technologies
