Job Summary

Provides sales and service activities related to an assigned territory of customers for our Stanley- National Builders Hardware brands, to ensure that established sales objective are achieved for that territory.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • (75%) In-Store Sales & Service for assigned customer base
  • (15%) In-Store & In-Aisle Re-merchandising/Re-setting Activity, including Planogram Execution
  • (10%) Home Office - Administrative work, Call Cycle Planning, Conference Calls, Planogram Development
  • Activities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains a regular and timely call cycle to each customer within the territory.
  • Solicits and writes restock orders, reviews computer generated orders and/or assists in the customer's order cycle.
  • Consults on order points, min/max, and stock levels with store management.
  • Plans, prepares and conducts sales presentations regarding new products, line expansions, and opportunities for additional product placement.
  • Provides guidance and advice on use of programs such as coop advertising, price tickets, scan labels, and bar code label programs, maintain established programs.
  • Assists corporate credit collection process when requested.
  • Minor responsibilities to support sales, service and placement of additional Spectrum Brands products into customer base.
  • Identifies and prioritizes new/prospective customers, and actively pursues opportunities for product placement.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May assist in working trade shows, regional sales meetings, and other meetings as requested by management.
  • May assist other Territory Account Managers when asked to support special events, vacancies or other unusual infrequent events.
  • May assist with training of other Territory Account Managers or other employees as requested.
  • May assist corporate departments with product evaluation, marketing plans, etc. as requested.

  • Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years sales experience
  • Prior retail / consumer goods experience

  • Required Skills

  • Strong analytical & problem- solving skills
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Demonstrated interpersonal & customer centric orientation
  • Self-motivated
  • Physical requirement - Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs+

  • Work Environment

  • 90% travel within the territory by automobile or air as required to provide sales and service to customers. (approximately 3-4 overnight trips per month)
  • Flexible work hours including occasional evenings and/or weekends
