Our client in Enfield, CT is looking for a Technical Procurement Specialist to join their team.



Responsibilities:


  • Develop strategies for optimizing the current supplier network, including consolidation and diversification where necessary.

  • Participate in supplier risk assessment during selection process and on an on-going basis to ensure optimal supply as per defined requirements and commitments

  • Integrate suppliers into the Company's supply chain and production process.

  • Assist to develop the supplier performance to meet delivery and quality standards, commitments and expectations.

  • Assist in developing a strong and credible supplier network, and manage the supplier relationships.

  • Acquisition and evaluation of sample parts (including generation of purchase orders) for new and series production parts through ECO process; management of entire purchasing process until production release adherence to production schedules or R&D project dates.

  • Provide technical mechanical manufacturing experience and process guidance to Engineering, suppliers, buyers, sourcing team, quality and R&D to ensure Company quality standards and cost control requirements are met.


  • Skills and Experience:


  • Experience (10 years or more) in manufacturing operations (5 years or more hands on fabrication operations) and purchasing (5 years or more). ISO 9001 and/or 13485 experience a plus.

  • Knowledge, understanding and experience with general industrial processes, such as sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, casting and molding, finishing techniques.

  • Experience with ASME Bioprocessing Equipment (BPE) standard preferred.

  • Computer literate with extensive knowledge of general software (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Must have working knowledge of Production Planning Systems (MRP / ERP) and good project management skills.

  • Working knowledge of customized programs (LN-Infor, Qlikview).

  • Available and able to travel locally and internationally up to 50% of overall work schedule.
