What a Manufacturing Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Manufacturing Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Manufacturing function.


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of 2+ years related work experience required
  • Demonstrated success in managing people and leading a team
  • Leadership experience within an ISO regulated field preferred
  • Strong communication skills

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of operations, or business support staff
  • Administers and executes policies and procedures
  • Ensures employees operate within guidelines
  • Decisions have a direct impact on work unit operations and customers
  • Frequently interacts with subordinates, customers and peer groups at various management levels
  • Interactions normally involve information exchange and basic problem resolution
  • Essential Functions:

  • Produces products to documented specifications and procedures. 
  • Reviews and maintains documentation to support production.
  • Identify and implement cost savings and method improvements.
  • Ensures designated department equipment is calibrated in accordance with written procedures.
  • Works with Quality Assurance department to determine root causes of non-conforming products and appropriate corrective action.
  • Supervises department personnel, coordinates work assignments based on production schedules and material available, maintains safe and secure working environment, evaluates individual and team performance and addresses morale/performance concerns.
  • Develops methods to ensure and track financial performance of the department, operates within budgetary guidelines, maximizes efficiency of machines and personnel, manages inventory of raw materials and work-in-process.
  • Maintains manufacturing specifications and process documentation and ensures compliance with CGMP regulations, ISO, FDA, OSHA safety regulations and company human resources policies.
  • Reports production and personnel status to the production superintendent. 
  • Provides personnel guidance consistent with company human resources policies.
  • Interacts with management staff regarding introduction of new manufacturing processes/products.
  • Coordinates professional development and skills training of department personnel.
  • Responsible to observe department's safety regulations and to use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Responsible to practice department's good manufacturing and housekeeping procedures and complete cleaning verification checklists as required.
  • Reports any unusual circumstances to immediate supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
