My client based in Alpharetta is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their Finance team. The position will be responsible for SOX key control processes (including documentation, review, grading, and testing of departmental internal controls), supporting key process improvement initiatives (including documentation, creating/coordinating presentations and providing financial and project analysis support), managing critical business reports (including coordinating, improving and maintaining existing reports and creating new reports as required), manage the annual budget and monthly forecast process, partner with the Supply Chain and Sales organizations to develop key reporting metrics, and provide additional support to the parent company.
Update, own and execute SOX processes including control matrices, process narratives, template building, evidence gathering, evidence grading, dashboard reporting, interfacing with internal and external auditors on walkthroughs and testing, and creating and executing remediation plans when required, monitoring progress, and maintaining supporting documentation
Identify and evaluate key risks in accounting, close and financial reporting processes and propose changes in control design to address risks
Evaluate close process and SOX controls for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and promptly resolve potential issues
Work with SOX process owners to advise/implement improvements to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency of controls
Continuously enhance and improve financial reporting deliverables and support periodic SEC filings
Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) ensuring sustainable and repeatable business processes and make process improvement recommendations
Research and formally document technical accounting conclusions and other financial assertions
Support and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner in compliance with US GAAP

BS in Accounting Required
CPA Required; CMA (Strongly Preferred)
Masters of Accountancy (Preferred)
Minimum 5 years of Inventory Accounting Analysis experience within a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred
Experience successfully interfacing with Big 4 auditors to resolve complex issues
Proven experience achieving results through influencing team members
