Manager of Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Warehousing

One of the world's leading private alternative investment firms is looking to expand their leadership team. They recently centralized all of their development and IT teams and as a result are looking for someone to take over their BI and Data Warehouse initiatives.

DESCRIPTION

The Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics is responsible for managing a team to responsible for delivering high quality data analytics and business intelligence solutions that satisfy business needs. They will have responsibility for technical design, implementation, support and maintenance of data warehousing, data analytics, BI platform, and supporting ETL processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, motivate, and lead business intelligence resources in the architecture, modeling, design and implementation of a Kimball data warehouse and supporting ETL processes.
  • Responsible for Business Intelligence Reporting solutions
  • Responsible for the Data Analytics solutions
  • Establish data warehousing and data transformation standards aligning with industry best-practices
  • Personnel Management / Training
  • Partner with internal business partners / analysts to demonstrate the capabilities of the Business Intelligence platform to satisfy their business requirements
  • Partner with Business and IT stakeholders to establish data governance
  • Enhance existing data warehouse and ETL processes to support new data elements and reporting requirements
  • Expand integration of 3rd party market data with existing data warehouse
  • Monitor and support ETL processes and data quality
  • Manage projects and tasks
  • Prepare Technical Design / Specifications
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Data Governance
  • Expert knowledge of Data Architecture and Modeling
  • Expert knowledge of Data Transformation and best practices
  • Strong understanding of Kimball design principles
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant experience in capital markets and alternative investments a strong plus
  • 5+ years developing BI platforms in an enterprise environment
  • 5+ years developing Data Warehouses
  • 3+ years managing teams
