Robert Half Finance is searching for an efficient Controller to join a reputable services company. In this leadership role, you will manage a small accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Louisville, Kentucky area. Your responsibilities - Collaborate with COO, executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible - Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time - Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation - Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts - Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis - Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll
Job Requirements- Implement and enforce high standards for quality deliverables - CPA or MBA preferred - Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Maintain accountability for self and others to make sure that results are achieved - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued - 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years as a Controller preferred - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Possess strong Microsoft Excel skills - Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why" - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus - Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure - Budgeting experience - Financial planning experience preferred - Proven knowledge of month end closings - Well-founded grasp of investments - Financial analysis experience - Budget forecasting experience - Financial reporting experience
