Job Overview


  • Must be able to work ANY SHIFT needed to fulfill business needs

  • Responsible for directing and guiding operators and their activities for assigned area/shift in the execution of production and/or logistics plans

  • May be used a Maintenance Supervisor relief.

  • Participate in the development of an implements plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility

  • Operates production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.

  • Responsible for team development of employees to insure proper mixing, machining, packaging and logistics in assigned areas according to targeted specifications, to achieve total quality

  • Helps to develop new Operations Supervisors in all responsibilities and promote a positive attitude.

  • Responsible for problem solving process to resolve and/or mitigate those operational issues resulting in negative performance to plan as determined by the established escalation process.

  • Responsible for support of Lean Training as directed by Operations Manager for assigned area/shift.

  • Ensure adherence to all standard work processes

  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations

  • Food safety – plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed

  • Compliance with food safety policies and procedures

  • Compliance with employee safety policies and procedures

  • Responsible for MCRS sustainability

  • Ensure achievement of all area/shift KPIs; ensure adherence to and continuous improvement for all area/shift MCRS elements

  • Administer the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement/work rules and company policies and procedures in a consistent manner, and provides input during planning and preparation for labor negotiations

  • Attempt to resolve grievance and disputes on the floor whenever possible.

  • Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies.

  • Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issue identified as potential risks to, or opportunities to improve plant performance.

  • Prepare for and execute changeovers

  • Document and escalate supplier issues/non-conformance.

  • Participate in daily food review.

  • Strong troubleshooting, driving to root cause using RCA methodology.

  • Ensure adherence to all standard work processes

  • Responsible for supporting the execution of relevant projects with assigned area/shift.

  • Responsible for supporting talent management process for hourly employees.

  • Ensure Diversity and inclusion meets/exceeds corporate standards

  • Proactively engage in the development and training of hourly labor and support such plans developed by plant leadership.

  • Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures

    Minimum Qualifications


  • Effective communication (both written and verbally) and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity

  • Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Proven ability to effectively manage people

  • Strong problem solving ability

  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others

  • Candidate must be able to effectively function in a union environment and promote positive labor relations
