Job Description Position:              Global Quality Assurance Engineer

Location:              Victaulic Corporate Headquarters- Easton, PA

Reports To:         Global Quality Assurance Supervisor

 

Scope:  To enhance product and service reliability throughout the entire product life cycle spanning the distribution channel from supplier to end-user.  The primary function of this position is Supplier Quality Management and Product Development support. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible, under the Victaulic Supplier Quality Management System, for certifying new suppliers and managing existing suppliers.  The work scope includes on site auditing to corporate standards, developing suppliers when required, conducting capability studies, generating control plans and ensuring suppliers continue to meet performance standards. As part of the Product Development Team, the incumbent will interact with cross functional teams in support of the New Product Development process.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

1.            Responsible for supporting all elements of the supplier quality system including new supplier qualification, supplier re-evaluation, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis and CAPA.  Assist suppliers in understanding and implementing Victaulic specifications.

2.            Improving Internal Quality processes (such as incoming inspection, claims handling, measuring and monitoring of processes) and offer Quality Management support to other departments (Supply Chain, Customer Care, warehousing, etc.) in order to improve internal processes and to maintain ISO 9001:2008 certification.

3.            Serve as department liaison for several new product development initiatives. Actively participate in product design reviews, Advanced Quality Planning, design & process FMEA’s, mistake proofing and other quality new product development activities.

4.            Provide support as necessary for existing product lines and Victaulic manufacturing facilities.  These activities include, but are not limited to: Engineering Change Control, process improvements, and product improvements.

5.            Manage the development and maintenance of internal technical specifications and testing methods commensurate with tolerance sensitivities and part complexity.

6.            Initiate product / process reviews related to warranty claims/customer complaints.


7.            Perform trend analysis and establish ongoing manufacturing / quality metrics.


8.            Conduct routine product reviews through audits of the related manufacturing processes.


9.            Initiate periodic communication with customers to ensure quality objectives are clearly identified and acted upon.

10.          Other initiatives and projects as directed by the Global Quality Assurance Supervisor or Director.

Job RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:

1.            Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required.

2.            A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering Preferred

3.            Familiarity with statistical concepts and their application (control charts, process capability etc.)  Knowledge in advanced statistical methods a plus.

4.            Proficient in problem solving.

5.            Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (MS Office and MiniTab).  Experience with SolidWorks a plus.

6.            Knowledge of Victaulic product line desired.

7.            Excellent communication skills.

8.            Working knowledge of measuring equipment.

9.            Able to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance.

10.          Able to travel globally as required.

11.          Current or prior ASQ CQE and/or CSSBB certification desired.

12.          Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
