Accountemps is looking for a Payroll Administrator with dynamic communication and problem-solving skills who can process payroll effectively and efficiently. Located in Canby, Oregon, the Payroll Administrator role is a short term temporary role. What you get to do every day: - Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence - Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary - Maintain all updates of payroll records by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Guarantee company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines - Exercise review and verification of source documents - Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads - Manage employee deductions and other liabilities - Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies - Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments - Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports - Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll - Handle other duties as necessary - Help payroll manage all internal and external audits - Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Job Requirements- 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll - Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements - Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience preferred - Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience - Strong familiarity with garnishments - Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required - Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions - Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional
