Job Description

VistaCollege is currently hiring for an Associate Director of Admissions at our FortSmith, AR campus.

Assistingthe Director of Admissions with leadership and day-to-day operations of theAdmissions Department, training admissions representatives, staffing, and administrativeresponsibilities to meet department objectives. The Associate Director of Admissions position may also assist withtraining at other campus locations on occasion. 


  • Trainingand coaching representatives to potential

  • Proactivelymaintain representative staffing levels

  • Trainnew representatives and certify for production

  • Accuraterecord keeping and forecasting

  • Attendanceat weekly staff meetings; training meetings, school functions, and specialevents

  • Workcollaboratively with all departments on campus

  • Participatein student retention activities on campus

  • Remainknowledgeable about the competition

  • Submittimely and accurate reports

  • Ensurethat all enrollment supplies are current and well stocked, and may assist inplacing orders as needed

  • Resolvestudent complaints as they pertain to admissions problems or procedures

  • Properlymanage & follow up with all assigned leads not enrolled

  • AssistAdmissions Representatives with finalization of interviews and maintainingenrollments

  • Informthe Director of Admissions/Campus President of any issues affecting the normaloperation of the Department

  • Participateand assist with hiring / termination process

  • Inabsence of Director of Admissions:

  • AssistAdmission Representatives in saving cancels

  • MonitorAdmission activities

  • Checkenrollment paperwork and conduct 2nd interviews

  • Assignwalk-in appointments to the appropriate reps

  • Perform“Check-Out” procedure with reps at the end of the day     

  • Perform administrativeduties with regard to reports

  • Trainnew representatives.  New representativesare to be shadowed by Assistant Director of Admissions during interviews andphone calls.  Assistant Director ofAdmissions is to role-play with new representatives.

  • Critiquea representative once a week during an interview and a lead call

  • Facilitatea phone critique during Friday meetings once per month

  • Giveinput and feedback in Friday admissions meetings

  • Takeon the mentor role for certain employees assigned by the Director of Admissions

  • Conductthe admissions portion of the orientation one-a-month


  • Associate’sdegree in a related Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciencesdiscipline with 3+ years’ experience directly related to the duties andresponsibilities specified.

  • Reliable transportation and a Valid Driver’s License.
  • The Admissions Director should have experience in the proprietary school business and have served as an Admission's Representative.

  • Leadership ability and a high level ofprofessionalism. 

  • Abilityto present information in a manner easily understood and is receptive to othersin order to receive feedback. 

  • Establishesand maintains effective communication with employees and all levels ofmanagement by demonstrating excellent verbal and written skills. 

  • Recognizedas an approachable respected and knowledgeable person; A valuable team memberwho treats others with respect

  • Useseffective approaches for choosing a course of action and/or developingappropriate solutions.  Identifieseffective approaches to teamwork. Demonstrates behaviors and techniques thatenhance the quality of group processes. Can relate well with others

  • Workis normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
