Job Description Grade:

It is the responsibility of the Race & SportsBook Writer/Cashier to write, verify, and make payments on tickets while delivering excellent guest service to internal and external guests. 
  • Maintains a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary. 
  • Stocks Race & Sports book Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean.
  • Writes Race and Sports tickets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Makes payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verifies tickets and payoffs.
  • Reconciles bank for assigned shift.
  • Provides information and assistance to customers in a friendly, courteous manner to ensure the delivery of guest service.  Provides guests with information regarding Luxor/MGM Resorts International facilities whenever possible.  Offers information on activities, etc., and directs guests for further information as necessary.
  • Greets the guests when arriving at his/her window, providing cordial and courteous service.  Maintains a professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Handles writing/cashiering in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensures compliance to Nevada gaming statues and regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as requested.
  • Required:

  • Ability to provide rapid and accurate ticket writing service to guests of the Race & Sports book. 
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and  holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Preferred:

  • Previous Race & Sports book Writer/Cashier experience.
  • Previous cash handling.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
