Our capabilities range from market and consumer research, full concept development, design and engineering, testing and validation to world-class manufacturing.Job IntroductionThe position of Accounting Manager is responsible for all the day to day accounting functions of the plant.Major Responsibilities* Direct Supervisor to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff * Monitor compliance with business plan, company procedure and policies as well as other company objectives. * Analyze financial data as required. * Comply with taxation requirements. * Manage cash and Accounts Receivable collection. * Complete performance appraisals for department. * Foreign currency management. * Develop procedures. * Taking appropriate corrective action when substandard performance is observed, ie discipline and training * Participate in annual business/budget review and complete own department budget preparation and monitoring to ensure budgets are achieved; * Write month end journal entries and accruals * Performs month end accounting functions including balance sheet account reconciliations * Balance inter-company accounts * Analyze and evaluate plant operating expenses * Responsible with year end closing * Responsible for monthly performance package * Responsible for budget and forecasting * Complies with Environmental, and Material Management System requirements * Assure compliance with Sarbanes/Oxley 404 legislation * Accounts receivable including cash application and invoicing * Fixed asset ledger * This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.Knowledge and Education* A Bachelors degree in Business or Accounting with a minimum of three years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. Must be experienced with computerized accounting systems as well as MS Office and Excel. Must be able to use a ten-key calculator by touch.Skills and Competencies* Excellent communication skills (oral, written, graphs). * Excellent verbal and written skills along with the ability to effectively present information to management, employees, and corporate personnel are essential. * Must be able to interface with all departments. * Occasional overnight travel is required.
