Job Description Grade:

The Dining Services Attendant VI answers all incoming calls for the purpose of taking food and beverage orders for owner’s and guest’s suites.

  • Channel orders to available serving staff and send information to cook stations. Ensure timely pickup of orders.     
  • Advise owner and guest of delivery time and ensure orders are delivered to suite in a timely fashion.
  • Distribute orders to servers evenly and efficiently. Log all service runs. Maintain a cash bank and ensure all funds are correctly accounted for.
  • Take orders promptly and cheerfully, ensure that order is produced quickly.
  • Input all In-Suite Dining orders into P.O.S. system.
  • Ensure supplies are available in service area.
  • Possess complete knowledge of entire menu, proper food presentation, and wine selection for up selling of all items.
  • Answer all questions the owner and guest may have in a courteous manner.
  • Assist owners and guests if they need expedited service due to an emergency.
  • Resolve owner and guest concerns within the scope of authority, otherwise refers to supervisor.
  • Follow strict departmental guest relations policy, while projecting a warm, friendly, and caring attitude.
  • Maintain all sanitation and safety standards.
  • Greet owners and guests with warm smile, maintain eye contact, and communicate in a professional and pleasant demeanor. Treat all owners, guests and visitors with maximum courtesy.
  • Attend training and retain knowledge covered in sessions.
  • Notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, and/or alleged thefts. Notify manager on duty of any guest concerns or disputes that cannot be readily resolved.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Be proactive, responsive, and anticipate owner and guest needs prior to and throughout stay. Answer all questions or secure answers for owners and guests.
  • Maintain composure with difficult owners and guests in demanding situations.
  • May serve food or beverages, or provide other Dining Services, at banquets and other group events held at The Signature.
  • Adhere to strict services standards and follow established service sequences.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and presentable environment. Maintain constant awareness of sanitation, safety and accident prevention.
  • Perform all other related duties as requested.
  • Required:

  • At least 1 year previous experience as a Room Service Cashier/Order Taker, preferably in a major hotel resort complex.
  • Must participate and successfully complete training and educational programs made available to The Signature staff at MGM Grand.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and  holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.   
  • Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
