TITLE: Process Engineer PLANT: Corporate
DEPARTMENT: Process Engineer REPORTS TO: Process Engineering Manager

To provide engineering support to manufacturing by identifying, specifying, and implementing actions which drive continuous improvement throughout the casting process by performing data analysis and problem solving activities which lead to the resolution of manufacturing issues.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education, knowledge, skills and abilities:
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Certification required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Certifications: Formal problem solving methodology is preferred
Experience: Five or more years of relavent experience in die casting, foundry, or related manufacturing industry is preferred.
Communication: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
Other: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Experience with Shainin, Six Sigma, and other formal problem solving methodologies preferred. Experience in the use of Lean Manufacturing Techniques preferred. Basic understanding of fluid power and thermodynamic principles. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings such as casting, machining, and tool prints. Willing to work in office environment and on the manufacturing floor. Willing to travel to customer facilities as needed. Able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends on relatively short notice as needed.
