Garnishment Assistant -- IMMEDIATE HIRE

Job Requirements: The Administrative Assistant will work in a high volume Wage Garnishment Team for mid to large size payroll department.  In addition to ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all incoming mail, this position will provide customer service support for both internal and external customers and provide information and assistance in all aspects related to wage attachments.  The Administrative Assistant will also adhere to compliance with company policies and statutory regulations, process improvements, and standardized processes throughout the organization. The Administrative Assistant will need to work until 6 p.m. periodically in order to support HRSC service hours and overtime hours as needed. Also, the position requires the ability to quickly adapt to and embrace change. The key accountabilities for this role include:

  • Managing all in-coming mail communication including fax, e-mail, postal mail, and other electronic mail
  • Prepare and assist with various reports around metrics, audits, projects, record cleanup, etc.
  • Scan and attach garnishment documents to employee records
  • Perform quality checks on the work of Wage Attachment Specialist by completing several audits
  • Answer, log, and dispatch incoming calls
  • Case management and reporting
  • Assist with monthly payroll activities
  • Assist Wage Attachment Specialist with mailing, faxing, or e-mailing garnishment answers
  • This position requires at least an Associate’s Degree and some college course work. Preferred work experience and skills is as follows:

  • Proficient using SAP, Clarify and Oracle
  • Proficient using complete Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and PC skills
  • Proficient with email system; Microsoft Outlook preferred
  • Work in garnishment environment
  • High volume fast pace work environment
  • Additional Details:

  • Must be able to establish and nurture relationships with customers
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and determine solutions without direct supervision

  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Good analytics with knowledge of payroll systems
  • Motivated self-starter able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
