Norris Academy is a residential treatment facility for children and youth ages 6 to 17 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Norris Academy has 41 licensed beds and serves youth from Tennessee as well as several other states.
The Autism Spectrum/Neurodevelopmental Disorders Residential Treatment Program at Norris Academy is medically and clinically supervised by a Licensed, Board-Certified Psychiatrist who serves as the Medical Director of the program.
Each shift is staffed with a Registered Nurse 24-hours a day.
Director of Nursing position is an exempt position.
The Director of Nursing oversees the daily operational activities of patient care. The Director of Nursing systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices and nursing services, analyzing appropriate internal and external data and information to identify opportunities for improving services and patient outcomes. Coordinates staff to assure that effective nursing services are provided. The Director of Nursing (DON) plans and monitors the delivery of quality patient care by the RNs, LPNs and Mental Health Workers. The DON supervises the administration of the work schedule and assigns workload to the staff maximizing the strengths and abilities of the staff. The DON and DCS have overall responsibility for managing, coordinating, supervising and implementing delivery of services in an effective manner for the Child/Adolescent Acute
